Laiki Bank (The Cyprus Popular Bank Public Co Ltd), further to its announcements dated 14.05.2012 and 17.05.2012, states that the proposal of the Ministry of Finance that the Republic of Cyprus acts as an underwriter of the issue of the share capital of the Bank of €1.800.000.000, has also been approved by the House of Representatives.

The Board of Directors of the Bank expresses its thanks to the House of Representatives.

The decree for the Underwriting of the Rights Issue of the Cyprus Popular Bank Public Co Ltd, which was approved yesterday by the House of Representatives, is hereby attached for the information of investors.

It is noted that the publication of the decree in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus is pending, while its provisions will be included in the final Prospectus which will be submitted to the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission for approval and will be published within the next week.
