In response to a request made by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, GENIKI BANK indicates that it takes note of the communications of SOCIETE GENERALE, its controlling shareholder, and of Piraeus Bank confirming  that they are engaged in confidential discussions regarding the potential sale of SOCIETE GENERALE' stake in GENIKI BANK to Piraeus Bank. GENIKI BANK will communicate further information regarding the progress of these discussions, if any, in due course.
