METKA SIGNS NEW CONTRACT

FOR MANUFACTURE OF PATRIOT DEFENCE SYSTEMS

 Athens, 28.11.2012:  METKA is pleased to announce the further extension of its manufacturing activity for major subassemblies of the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System, for export markets. More specifically:

Contractor:                     METKA S.A.

Client:                             INTRACOM Defense Electronics, in the framework of its agreement with Raytheon Company

Key Project Features:      Semi-trailers and launcher mechanics.

Project Schedule:            Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by July 2014.

Contract Value:               The total value of the contract is $36,5 million.

This is the third contract for subassemblies of defence systems for exports, and follows on from similar contracts with total value of approximately $50 million, which were awarded and started as from 2009.

Through this new contract for Patriot semi-trailers and launcher mechanics, METKA once again demonstrates the capability of its state-of-the-art Volos factory for manufacturing of high value-added products for technologically demanding international markets. More than 95% of the production of the Volos factory is destined for exports.
