FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD
01/01/2013 – 31/03/2013
The consolidated turnover of “VIOHALCO”, for the first quarter of 2013, amounted to € 733 mil., lower by 10,3% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, due to the recession of the European economy, as well as the continued depression of the Greek economy.
The consolidated profits before taxes, financing, investing results and depreciation (EBITDA) amounted to € 25,6 mil., compared with € 37,6 mil. for 2012 and the consolidated results before taxes and minority rights remained at the same level with those of last year, amounting to a loss of € 22,8 mil.
The net consolidated results for the period were charged with the amount of € 36,4 mil., due to the deferred tax loss, resulting from the increase in the taxation rate, from 20% to 26%,finally, the consolidated net results after taxes and minority rights amounted to € 41,1 mil. loss,( € -0,2063 loss per share), compared with € 14,7 mil. loss,( € -0,0735 per share), for the first quarter of 2012.
The financial results are negatively affected by the extraordinary decrease of construction activity inGreece, the increase of the cost of energy, which is also charged with high consumption taxes, as well as the increase of financial costs.
The results before taxes of VIOHALCO S.A. for the period 01/01/13 – 31/03/13 amounted to a € 0,05 mil. loss, compared with a € 0,15 mil. loss for the corresponding period of 2012 and the net results after taxes amounted to a € 4,2 mil. loss ( € -0,0212 per share) charged with the deferred tax loss of € 4,1 mil., resulting from the increase in the taxation rate from 20% to 26%, compared with a € 0,3 mil. loss for 2012 ( € -0,0014 per share).
