ELVAL HOLDINGS S.A.

In relation to an article posted on the Euro2day website on 14/04/2011, ELVAL wishes to clarify the following:

The small fire that broke out on 24/10/2010, as a result of a leakage of molten aluminium from one of the two melting furnaces operated at the casting plant of Bridgnorth Aluminium, the British subsidiary of ELVAL, was of limited significance, as it neither affected sales - these amounted to 68 thousand tons in 2010, increased from 65 thousand tons in 2009 - nor damaged the company's annual financial results, the latter being considerably above the corresponding 2009 figures. It is noted that the subsidiary fully met the demand during the aforementioned period. For this reason, ELVAL did not publish a statement on the incident. There were also no relevant references in ELVAL's financial reports.
The relevant damages were repaired immediately and the casting plant commenced partial operation a week after the incident. Full operation was restored in four weeks. We would also like to note that facilities are insured against fire-related losses.
