M.J.Maillis Group announces the recruitment of Mr Apostolos Georgiou for the position of Group Optimisation and Value Creation Manager as of June 9, 2008.
During the presentation of the new member of the Group the CEO Mr Kourouglos explained that this role is vital for the organization as within his role, Mr Georgiou, will be responsible for the implementation of the group pricing strategy in Europe and for the cost optimization and value creation of the Groups operations. Mr Kourouglos stated that the recruitment of Mr Georgiou is consistent and reinforces the commitment of the Group Management to bring and maintain the company's profitability above the industry average.
Mr. Georgiou is a Chemical Engineer with an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College in London and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He has also attended specialized crisis management, negotiation skills and business administration programmes at Harvard University.
Mr Georgiou has extensive experience in managing profitability in international environments in companies like Chevron and BP. He has been involved in major projects for the restructuring & implementation of new management methods & the realization of pricing strategy for petroleum products in the retail & wholesale business.
