In the first quarter the company realized sales of 9,986 T euro, an increase by 6.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year (9,359 Τ euro). All the sectors achieved a positive and balanced growth, confirming by this way the new sales model that was adopted last year, after the transfer of Henkel Hellas cosmetics business to Rilken S.A.
Gross profit similarly increased by 5.8% and amounted to 6,176 T euro versus 5,837 T euro in the first quarter of 2007, while earnings before interest and taxes recorded a profit of 792 T euro against 354 T euro in the previous year, an increase by 123.7%. This profit, apart from the above reason, is related to the cost reduction of the company?s operating expenses.
After taxes, the company recorded a profit of 412 T euro compared to 219 T euro in the corresponding period of 2007, showing an increase of 88%. Earnings per share, finally, came up to 0.12 euro.
