PRESENTATION OF C. ROKAS SA TO THE ASSOCIATION OF GREEK INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS
Pursuant to the program of corporate presentations of ATHEX listed companies organized by the Association of Greek Institutional Investors, the C. Rokas SA presentation took place on Wednesday April, 9 2008. The Company was represented by Mrs. Vassiliki Christodoulopoulou, Chairman and C.E.O., Mr. Athanasios Tsantilas, General Energy Director, Mr. Christian Thomas, C.F.O. and I.R.O. as well as Mr. Dimitrios Maggioros, Director of HR and Administration. They presented an analysis of the Group's activities, the latest developments and the FY 2007 financial results.
Starting the presentation, Mr. Christian Thomas, C.F.O. and I.R.O, briefly analyzed C. Rokas SA activities. As emphasized, the Rokas Group has been active in the Renewable Energy Sources sector as well as the Electromechanical Projects field which also constitutes the traditional activity of the Parent company. It is noteworthy that even though the energy sector takes the largest part (85%) of the consolidated turnover, the Group holds today a leading position in both areas in the Greek market. C. ROKAS SA is a member of the Spanish Group IBERDROLA RENOVABLES S.A., which is also the majority shareholder of the Company holding today a 52.7% stake.
As far as the energy sector is concerned, it was mentioned that C. ROKAS SA is a pioneer in the Greek renewable energy sources sector since 1998. In the Wind Energy sector, the Company owns and operates today a total of 13 Parks with total capacity amounting to 199.3 MW, that produce over 490 GWh annually, while there are 2 more parks under construction with total capacity amounting 7 MW and one more in the Gantza area with total capacity at 44 MW. Moreover, the Company has officially filed and is expecting the licenses to build wind parks with total capacity of 488 MW in Greece and 179 MW in Cyprus.
Also, the Company runs a state-of-the-art electromechanical equipment plant through which it can design, construct and install electromechanical equipment with applications in the steel industry, in the manufacturing sector, and the ports sector.
As far as the fiscal year 2007 financial results, the consolidated turnover amounted to euro 44.7 mil. versus euro 50.2 mil. in 2006, forming a 11% decrease, mainly attributed to the high turnover of the Electromechanical Projects to third parties in FY 2006, which did not recur in FY 2007, as well as to the fall by 3.7 of the energy sector's net turnover in FY 2007. Moreover, Earnings before Interest, Taxes and Depreciation (EBITDA) for the Group amounted to euro 23.0 mil. versus euro 31.8 mil. in 2006, posting a 27.9% decrease, while net after taxes and minorities earnings formed at euro 11.6 mil. in 2007 versus euro 16.0 mil. in 2006, lower by 27.6%.
During the closing of the presentation, there was a brief overview of the Group's prospects in FY 2008 emphasizing that C. ROKAS SA, in collaboration with the Spanish Group Iberdrola which is today a leader in the energy sector in Europe, is consistently aiming at maintaining the conditions for the ongoing growth of the Group both regarding financial performance and operations.
