Further to the announcement dated 15 October 2007, Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd announces that the necessary approvals from the responsible regulatory authorities (Central Bank of Cyprus and Malta Financial Services Authority) for the acquisition of 43% of the share capital of Lombard Bank Malta PLC have been obtained. The relevant transaction is expected to be completed over the next few days.
