Following the conclusion of a tender for the implementation of an Integrated IT System, the joint-venture of SingularLogic Integrator, Infogroup & Neuropublic signed an agreement with O.P.E.K.E.P.E. (Greek Organisation for the Payment of Community Financial Assistance) of a total budget of 2,057,700 euros (including VAT). The part of the project to be implemented by SingularLogic Integrator is worth 823,080 euros (including VAT).
The responsibility of the O.P.E.K.E.P.E. is to pay the agricultural aids granted by the European Union to the agricultural sector, in a timely, proper and transparent manner. The project that is to be implemented by the joint-venture involves the development and installation of a special Integrated IT System, in support of the existing system for the management of Agricultural Development and Fishery Programs. The Integrated IT System will support managing authorities and O.P.E.K.E.P.E. in fulfilling their responsibilities and help ensure efficiency and effectiveness in O.P.E.K.E.P.E's function as a Payment and Certification Authority for the respective Funds.
The project, expected to be complete in December 2008, aims to guide both the competent authorities and the beneficiaries of community aid, into the new age of e-Governance.
The completion of the project signifies:
-Improved quality of services offered to Greek farmers
-Reduced response time to management requirements
-Improved efficiency and effectiveness of the bodies involved in the management of Agricultural Development and Fishery Programs
-Improved communication between involved bodies, and reduced error possibilities
-Application of Community and national regulations, laws and related procedures
