NIREUS receives ACTIVE GREECE AWARDS 2015 for its export performance
NIREUS' excellence in exports performance was awarded with the “Active Greece Awards 2015”.
The award ceremony took place at the annual business excellence event for exports that is organized by Active Greece Publishing and Statbank under the auspices of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Development, Rural Development and Food, Tourism, and other important institutions of Greek entrepreneurship.
This year's event was held on March 12 and presented an award to 43 Greek companies, from the industry, shipping and tourism, which are known for their business excellence and achieved the highest export performance, based on revenue, in their sector.
On the occasion of NIREUS receiving the Active Greece Awards 2015, Mr. Aristides Belles, President and CEO, commented:
“The exports award recognizes the consistent contribution of NIREUS, and of the fish farming sector, to the exports of our country.
And it also rewards our long term strategy that focuses on international expansion, product quality and commitment to customer service that has enabled NIREUS to achieve global leadership in Mediterranean fish farming.
In 2014, the exports of fresh Greek fish held the first position among the exports of agricultural products. And, NIREUS increased exports despite the adverse conditions that our country faces. Approximately 80% of our sales and over 90% of our fish were delivered to over 40 countries to serve more than 400 customers worldwide.
We believe that the Mediterranean fish farming industry has offered much to the Greek economy: jobs, taxes, exports, the strengthening of the regions, etc. And, with proper government attention, it has all the potential to offer much more in the coming years and to become one of the important pillars of the coveted economic development of the country”.
