NEW EPC PROJECT FOR METKA IN ALGERIA

METKA S.A. is pleased to announce that it has signed a new contract with Société Algérienne de Production de l'Electricité (SPE Spa), in consortium with General Electric.

 

This is METKA's fourth major project in Algeria and highlights the company's commitment towards establishing a strong presence in regional growth markets.

 

The main characteristics of this new project are as follows:

 

1.       Project Owner

 

Société Algérienne de Production de l'Electricité (SPE Spa). SPE is part of the Sonelgaz Group, the major Algerian electricity utility.

 

2.       Contractor

 

          Consortium General Electric - METKA S.A.

 

3.       Project Location

 

Hassi R'mel, (Wilaya de Laghouat) Algeria

 

2.       Project Description

 

The project concerns the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of a dual fuel (natural gas/diesel) open cycle power plant, with three gas turbines and a total output of 590,726 MW at site conditions.

 

3.         Award Value

 

The contract value for the consortium is EUR 348.717.350 plus Algerian Dinars (DZD) 2.587.539.691, (total equivalent approx. 372 million Euros), with METKA's share at 47% of the total.  

 

4.         Project Time Schedule:

 

The overall contracted schedule is 16.5 months.
